Hay Fever: Definition and Symptoms

It has been found that in the present found that most common form of allergy is the hay fever and around 20% of the world’s population is suffering from this allergy. Basically, hay fever is a condition of allergy in which the immune system of the body gets triggered when a person inhales the fungal spores and the plant pollens. Research and studies on this topic is still going on to find out why the immune system of some of the people is over responding to the inhalation of the fungal spores and the plants pollen.
There is no doubt in the fact that the people who are living in the cities are more prone to hay fever allergy as compared to the people of countryside. Therefore it is always said that the hay fever is completely linked with pollution and it makes the situation worst.
Some of the symptoms which can be seen an individual when he inhales the spores and pollens are the irritability in many body part, headache, stiffness, runny nose, itchy conjunctivitis or the watery eyes and the constant sneezing. It had been found that all these reaction are caused because of the inflammation of the mucous membrane and when the spores and pollens come in contact with the throat, mouth, eyes and nose, these parts get itched.
The symptoms of hay fever are different in each month and it depends on the pollen and spores to which the individual is allergic. The main season of hay fever lasts from February to October.
